  • Q: Is Yoga religious?

Although yoga originated in India, it is not a religion. In fact, yoga is a system of self-study and self-observation. It develops a sense of quietness and vitality within the individual.

Q: What are benefits of yoga?

Yoga develops strength, flexibilty and co-ordination. It reduces stress, teaches relaxation, establishes mental poise and enhances focus.

Q: Am I too old to start yoga?

The beauty of yoga is that it can be practiced by people of all ages. Students practice to their own capacity.

Q: What if I have an injury?

Yoga is a form of low impact movement that can be adapted by the use of props to assist in mobilising of stiff, inflamed joints and muscles. Blood flow is incresed to the affected area, accelerating the healing process. (Please inform your teacher prior to class.)

If you suffer more severe injuries and medical conditions, contact the studio to arrange a private class.

Q: How often should I attend classes?

Initially, you should attend classes once or twice per week. As you become more familiar and confident, you may wish to start practicing at home as well. Home practice notes are available at the studio. The studio is also available for personal practice (for students who attend classes regularly).

Q: What if I can’t come to the studio?

We offer Zoom classes as an option for most classes if you can’t come to the studio. You can join our classes via Zoom from the comfort of your own home (excluding Foundation and Beginners classes)
