I became fascinated in yoga after attending my first class at the age of 14, more than 50 years ago. I first got a taste for teaching at boarding school, where in my last year of high school, I taught a group of school mates a few evenings a week.
Three years later in 1979 I attended my first Iyengar class and eventually decided to certify as a teacher. Along with two others, I took over the Newtown Yoga Room when its creators - of which Lulu Bull was one - moved to the mountains.
After 29 wonderful years, I have just closed the studio in Newtown.
Now in semi retirement, it’s wonderful to be able to continue to teach this practice that has informed my life so profoundly. It is both a blessing and a privilege.
